    synopsis:

    The Embedded System Design Contest is a open software contest based on uNiBoard v1.1, which is an open source hardware platform manufactured by ThinkLABS for Embedded and Real Time Systems Programming.The contest aims at recognising and rewarding the best talents in logic, creativity and software design.The contest is open for students, hobbyists and embedded enthusiasts of any age group.The contest comprises of two rounds. The first round would be an online round in which the participating teams would be required to send (by email) the source code, synopsis and presentation of the project undertaken. Based on this round, teams would be shortlisted for the second round which would comprise of a demonstration round followed by an on­the­ spot competition based on the same platform.

    The finals of the competition would be held at ThinkLABS, SINE, IIT Bombay.Every registering team will need to pay an entry fee of Rs. 5000/against which ThinkLABS will issue a shop voucher of an equal amount.This voucher can be utilized to purchase relevant components from the Thinklabs shop.Participation certificates would be given to all team members on submission of their entries for Round 1.Prizes worth Rs. 2,00,000 to be won including four consolation prizes.

    Roboveda’09 is the prestigious National level robotics symposium conducted by Sreenidhi Institute of Science & Technology ,Hyderabad.This influential national level robotics symposium, which is one of its kinds in the entire country, signifies “knowledge in robotics”.The main objective of conducting such a technical fiesta is to offer a domain for the convergence of all the intellectual resources in the mighty field of robotics. The theme of Roboveda 09 is “Unveiling the ancient India-Mystique of the metal myth”. This time, the fest would be of highest technical attribute with all the events very well upgraded which would test the technological know-how of the students and apparently the competition would be of the utmost eminence which would certainly test the engineering insight of each and every participant in various concepts of robotics.
    The eight Robotics events include Kurukshetra, Lakshmanrekha, Goalaa, Vistaar, Gati, Sarvaagami, Padmavyuh, Yoddha.Other events inlcude Parishkar, Paper Presentations, guest lectures, workshops, On spot Events.An individual can participate in any number of following robotic events just by paying a registration fee of Rs 200/- only which includes food and participation kits.Out station students are charged Rs.650/- (the cost includes accommodation charges + food charges + transportation charges). Money should be paid prior to the fest in the form of Demand Draft.

    synopsis:

    TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) Fellows program brings world-changing innovators from around the world into the TED community and with its help, amplifies the impact of their remarkable projects and activities. Fellows are drawn from many disciplines that reflect the diversity of TED’s members: technology, entertainment, design, the sciences, the humanities, the arts, business and more. Each year, TED Fellows program organizers choose 50 individuals who demonstrate world-changing potential to join either the TED or TEDGlobal Conferences, approximately 25 Fellows for each event. At the end of the year, organizers select 20 of these Fellows to participate in an extended three-year Senior Fellowship, bringing them to six consecutive conferences.

    TED Fellows receive conference admission, round-trip transportation and room and board at the conference site. Fellows also participate in a two-day pre-conference where they can present a short talk or video which will be considered for TED.com. Other benefits include elite skills-building courses taught by world experts, social opportunities and surprise extras.
